Candle Corner

Who doesn't savour in a yummy candle? I love candles but when it comes to the scent I have a nose for it. Sometimes, most often then not, I am very specific about my candle selection. If we were in the middle of a crazy storm, and some one light a candle the tone of the environment would shift immediately. Thats why it's imperative to make the right choice when making your selections. Candle's superpower is to transform any setting, and I'm here to prove it.

Similar to picking out essential oils, the same can go for candles. First it is important to think about the smell or vibe you're trying to achieve.

Clean, floral, woody, fresh, vanilla, tropical, or something more masculine.

For me specifically I like more mature smells, that also have a hint of floral or freshness. To put it simpler, I gravitate towards smells that give off a Parisian Apartment or an East Hampton home, year round. Of course during the holidays I pay homage to Bath and Body Works, but since living full time in Europe, I have been spared from that excursion hence forth.

Whenever I light a candle the purpose I'm trying to achieve is reclaiming the area. This could be after a long day, travel day, rainy day or any other circumstance. Something that I also like to add when creating a satisfying environment is background music to match. For me this will be cocktail music from the classics: Ella Fitzgerald, Barbra Streisand, Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, honourable mentions being Dean Martin, Andy Williams, Wayne Newton, and The Four Seasons. Now the scene has been set. The dimmers warm and split on ice.

And now for the candle favourites...
